Big progress on SundaySuper big thanks to Meg & Greg, Brian, Barry, and Kris W. for coming to help out on Sunday. I was so excited I was giggling like a school girl when two more walls went up. When the ridge board and a few rafters went up the building started to really take shape.
Rafters up by Sunday? This weekend I'll be putting on a big push towards getting my buiding roofed-in for the winter. Primary tasks will be:
1.) finishing and erecting the remaining walls
2.) tweaking the position of the walls and getting them all as plumb as possible
3.) erecting the ridge board
4.) putting up the roof rafters
The roof will look something like below:

Overall, this building is quite different from mine, but the roof is fairly similar.
I'm begging lots of the guys from work to help. Pretty please guys! I love you!
Big thanks to Tony!I ended up taking an expected day off work yesterday to try one more time to put the tarp up. My neighboor Tony and I came up with a sheme of holding the tarp to the walls by wrapping it around a 2x6 and sandwiching edge against the building. This way tension will be distributed over the whole length of the tarp rather than just at the eyelets, which are mostly ripped out anyway.
Since it was raining and windy, the work was cold and brutal. Big thanks to Tony for sticking out the harsh conditions to help me out. I'm not forgetting the many people who've helped me out with this thing.
